The Holmes County Education & Community Foundation is pleased to offer scholarships, available by application, to high school seniors, non-traditional students, and graduate students seeking higher education at a university, college, or trade school.

The 2026 - 2027 academic year scholarship application will be available January 5, 2026 by clicking on the button below. Applications are due in their entirety by March 13th. No late applications are accepted! Preference is given to Holmes County residents or students who are graduates of Holmes County high schools.

Renewal Scholarship Forms
Now Available
If you have already received a renewable scholarship from the Holmes County Education & Community Foundation, you may now submit your renewal form for the 2026 - 2027 academic year. Renewal forms and instructions are available by clicking the button below. Renewal forms are due by February 13th. If you do not submit a renewal form, you will not receive your scholarship for the 2026 - 2027 academic year.
Raymond J. & Louella F. Patterson Scholarship for Teachers

The Raymond J. & Louella F. Patterson Scholarship for Teachers is open to current Holmes County teachers who have at least two years of classroom teaching experience. This scholarship can be used for study or training in the following areas: Study toward an advanced degree at an accredited college or graduate school; Special courses in specific subjects or technical training in specific areas; or participation in specific teacher training opportunities which enhance their ability to work with students. Scholarship will be awarded for tuition, fees, and books for any graduate level program that leads to a degree and program fees and expenses for other programs.
The maximum award for any one year will be $1,500.00.

A commitment for two complete years of classroom teaching in the Holmes County school system is required following the training.

Applications are accepted only once per academic year, typically January - March.
