2008-2009 Scholarship Applications

We're sorry, the 2008-2009 Holmes County Education Foundation Scholarship Application and Raymond J. & Louella F. Patterson Scholarship for Teachers Application deadline has past.  Please check back in January 2009 for updated 2009-2010 applications.

Renewal Applications were mailed in May and are due July 1, 2008.
If you have received from the Foundation in the past and are now wondering about your status as a recipient (i.e., you wish to know how many years you have left to receive a scholarship, or other questions), please contact the Education Foundation at (330) 674-7303.

*Remember, if you have already completed a scholarship application and have received aid from the Holmes County Education Foundation (not including non-renewable scholarships), you can receive up to 3 additional years of scholarships for undergraduate work (4 years if you began a 5-year program your first year of receiving aid), and up to 2 years for graduate work. DO NOT apply as a new applicant if you have already received aid from the Foundation. You will, however, need to reapply with the Foundation if you have completed undergraduate work and are now applying as a graduate student.

Scholarship Eligibility

Please read this section prior to applying for the Holmes County Education Foundation scholarships.

From the Trust Agreement Creating the Holmes County Education Foundation, Article III, Distributions In Furtherance of the Trust's Purposes, it reads, "The primary class of eligible recipients of scholarships or other financial assistance shall be residents of Holmes County, Ohio. To the extent such applicants exist, all income shall be used for their benefit; only to the extent not enough such applicants exist to exhaust all available income, the Trustees may award scholarships to graduates of high schools located in and to students who are residents of counties adjacent to Holmes County, Ohio. Under no circumstances may a child, grandchild, sister, brother, niece, nephew, or first cousin of a Trustee be eligible to receive a scholarship.
